How can you contribute? | Genealogy Biveros
Hello everyone,
We are approaching the end of the year, and I hope you have found some of the recent updates interesting. 🙂
Current Project
This has grown into a very extensive project, which is really fun. My total family tree has now well surpassed 33,000 individuals. It is even more fun to have come into contact with so many relatives—both close and distant. A highlight was meeting relatives in the USA during a visit to San Francisco a few years ago. Even though I don’t update this group very often, the research is growing continuously. The focus shifts to our specific common ancestors and relatives every now and then.
How can you contribute?
A question that pops up sometimes is: how can others contribute? There are four areas where your help is worth its weight in gold.
1. Write down your story
It is wonderful to be able to read, but also archive, as many stories as possible regarding our family. If you have stories you want to share, please don’t hesitate to send them to me. At the same time, please specify how they may be shared so that I can mark the confidentiality level of the information [Open, Close Family, Closed].
2. Help with information about our ancestors
Do you have memories or information about our ancestors who can no longer speak for themselves? Please write them down and share. I would love to save any type of information in the family archive.
3. Do you have photos?
One of the hardest things is getting hold of photos while also being able to identify the people in them. I will more than happily accept digital copies of photos of our ancestors and our shared family. Preferably with information about who is in the pictures. If you would like a picture of yourself in the family tree, it is of course fine to send over a portrait photo, and I will add it.
4. Financial support
Unfortunately, this is not a cheap hobby. My main source, Arkiv Digital, costs 2095 SEK per year. On top of that, there are a number of other services such as MyHeritage. Additionally, there are costs to maintain the website and to use the AI tool Gemini to smoothly generate the posts I share with you. So, if you want to contribute financially (both big and small) to the genealogy research, it is of course very much appreciated. This can be done in two ways (I will send the necessary details, so please get in touch if you wish to contribute):
- Swish (Sweden)
- Revolut (Card)
Please mark the payment ”Genealogy” and your name, so I can set the money aside correctly in a genealogy account. I will also look into the possibility of setting up a ”Genealogy Sponsors” page on the website.
Extra: Send a Christmas card to my daughter There is a person here at home who thinks it is really sad that she never receives mail. So, if you—or even better, your children—would like to send a Christmas card to our 8-year-old daughter, she would be really happy.
