Arriving by Air and Sea

To reach Långbergen, one must first travel to the Åland Islands. The main entry points are the ferry ports at Mariehamn and Långnäs, or the Mariehamn Airport (MHQ). Ferries operated by companies like Viking Line and Tallink Silja provide frequent connections from Stockholm in Sweden and from Turku and Helsinki in Finland. From any of these arrival points, a rental car or a local bus is required to reach the Saltvik area.

Connecting by Bus

The public transport on Åland is operated by Ålandstrafiken. A network of regional buses connects Mariehamn with the various municipalities on the main island. Bus line 4 runs from Mariehamn towards Geta and passes through the Saltvik area near Långbergen. Visitors would need to inform the driver of their intended stop. The bus services to rural areas can be infrequent, especially on weekends, so it is essential to check schedules in advance.
